An acquaintance of mine here in Berlin, Juan, runs an amazing clothing store in the Kreuzberg area, Let it Bleed. I think I would best describe his designs as punk-trash-glam, with the emphasis more on punk-trash than on glam. Whatever you call it, it’s unique and photogenic, so when I found out about their open air fashion show a few weeks ago, I had to be there.
The day was cold and overcast – not exactly photo weather – but the models somehow held it together for a great show. The various costume themes were borrowed from a children’s book called The Wedding Procession of the Rag Doll and the Broom Handle, and as the characters paraded down the streets in their bizarre finery, even a few unsuspecting bystanders were drawn into the festivities.
